The work week will start off with near normal temperatures with afternoon highs near 80 and mostly sunny skies. A ridge of high pressure aloft will move overhead Tuesday through Wednesday allowing the air to warm bringing daytime highs up into the lower 90s with overnight lows near 70. The record high temperature in Columbia Tuesday is 100 set in 1918 and 98 degrees Wednesday set back in 1952.
There is a chance of t-storms late Monday night into early Tuesday for areas north of I-70 due to a wave of low pressure moving through northern Missouri but the chance for rain is low. The next chance of storms moves in with a weak cold front which will move through Wednesday evening. This will cool our temperatures back into the 80s Thursday and Friday before we heat back up next weekend.
