Hot, dry weather continues but relief is on the way.
We will have our 8th consecutive day with high temperatures at 90 or higher Wednesday under mostly sunny skies. The strong ridge of high pressure aloft is anchored over the central states keeping it hot and dry through the weekend. High temperatures will stay in the mid to upper 90s through Sunday with heat indices from 98-102 during the peak heating of the day.
Medium range forecast models show the heat shifting to the west slightly early next week, bringing our high temperatures down into the 80s Tuesday and Wednesday after a cold front moves through. Unfortunately, there is still no rain in the forecast through Tuesday.
