Severe storms possible late Sunday
Warm conditions will continue into early next week with highs in the low-to-mid 70s Sunday through Tuesday.
A very weak cold front will stall over Mid-Missouri Saturday night then slowly lift northward as a warm front starting Sunday. Scattered showers and storms will be possible Sunday afternoon and through the overnight. Widespread severe weather is not expected, but some storms could have large hail and damaging winds, primarily west of HWY 63.
The rain will end by midday Monday before more storms return Tuesday and Wednesday as a stronger cold front moves through Missouri. Medium-range forecast models are differing on the exact track and timing of the storms, but all of Mid-Missouri could see potentially strong-to-severe storms. Any storms that do become severe could have large hail and damaging winds as the main threats. There is a slight chance of isolated tornadoes.
That cold front will usher in cooler and drier air for the end of the work week as highs cool into the 50s.
