COLUMBIA, Mo. -

The excessive heat and humidity will hang around for Mizzou football's season opener Saturday.

Temperatures will climb quickly through the late-morning hours and already be in the low 90s by noon and highs in the upper 90s by the mid-afternoon. Heat index values will make it feel hotter outside, with max heat indices between 100-105.

Skies will remain mostly sunny all day with light westerly breezes.

Anyone tailgating or going to the game should be prepared for the heat. Drink plenty of fluids (water, sports drinks, etc.), wear light-colored and loose clothing, and attempt to stay in the shade, if possible.
