A strong cold front will move into Mid-Missouri Friday evening into Saturday. The front will bring showers and thunderstorms with the slight chance of severe weather.
Currently, severe storms will be more likely in western and northwestern Missouri. The main severe threat will be damaging winds. These storms should weaken slightly as they move eastward, resulting a reduced risk of severe weather for Mid-Missouri.
The temperature drop with the front will be significant as afternoon highs will be in the mid-to-upper 80s Friday, then low 60s Saturday afternoon.
We will continue to monitor this weather system and update the forecast as new information becomes available.
