May 27, 2013 slight severe risk

Scattered showers and storms will be possible for much of Memorial Day Monday.

A weakening complex of storms will enter central and western sections of Mid-Missouri during the mid-to-late morning. No severe weather is expected, but storms will have heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds.

There will likely be some dry time during the afternoon with a spotty shower or storm possible.

Another complex of storms will re-form in Nebraska/Kansas during the afternoon/evening then push eastward tonight. That complex will enter areas of Mid-Missouri north of I-70 late tonight with the possibility of strong-to-severe storms. There is a slight risk of severe weather along/north of I-70 with damaging winds and large hail possible.
