Spotty storms will be possible Thursday with warm temperatures in the mid-to-upper 80s.
Summer will kick off Friday with the return of heat and humidity. The Summer Solstice is officially at 12:04 a.m. Friday morning in Missouri.
As an area of high pressure parks itself over the southeast U.S., it will help to pump the heat and moisture into Mid-Missouri.
Highs Friday through the middle of next week will reach the low 90s, but as moisture increases in the region, so will the humidity. Heat indices will approach the upper 90s over the weekend.
