It will be a hot day Thursday as temperatures climb into the lower 90s. We'll see a few more clouds as a cold front approaches late in the day with a slight chance of an isolated t-storm mainly north of I-70. A weak cold front will move through Thursday night dropping slightly cooler air into the region which will bring temperatures back down into the upper 80s Friday under partly sunny skies. The best chance of t-storms from this front will stay in northern and northeastern Missouri but an isolated t-storm in mid-Missouri can't be ruled out.
Daytime highs will climb to near 90 this weekend and reach into the lower 90s much of next week as a hot, dry weather pattern settles in for the last week of August. The 30 year average high temperature drops to 85 by the end of the month.
