Tuesday will continue to be very cold as arctic air hangs over mid-Missouri for one more day. Temperatures will start off near zero, only reaching near 20 in the afternoon with mostly sunny skies and light westerly winds.
Southwesterly winds will bring milder air to the region starting Wednesday as high temperatures climb into the upper 30s and reaching the lower 40s Thursday. Clouds will increase Thursday ahead of a cold front which will bring a chance of light snow Thursday night. As the front slowly sinks south of the area, a chance of rain or snow continues Friday through early Saturday.
Temperatures will be close to or just below average through early next week. The average low for the start of February is 22 with an average high of 40.
