Warm, humid air returns to Mid-Missouri starting Friday as a warm front pushes to the east. There is a slight chance of a shower or t-storm Friday but most areas will stay dry. Storms developing in Iowa Friday night will move to the southeast through early Saturday affecting northeast and eastern Missouri.
Hot, humid weather settles in Saturday with afternoon temperatures reaching the low to mid 90s and heat indices near 100 in the afternoon. As a cold front moves south to the Iowa border, storms are expected to develop late in the day Saturday. There is a chance these could affect areas north of I-70 by late evening where there is a slight severe threat for damaging wind and large hail.
The cold front will inch slowly to the south Sunday, running into hot, humid air. A few storms could form in Mid-Missouri late in the day. If they develop, they could become strong or severe.
