BOONE COUNTY, Mo. - Strong storms moved across Mid-Missouri overnight, leaving damage and numerous power outages in their wake.
On Lenoir Street in Columbia, a tree fell on a mobile home in Ed's Mobile Home park, trapping a man inside.
Crews got Cheston Fox out shortly before 6 a.m. and took him to University Hospital. Luckily, Fox only had a few cuts.
Fox told ABC 17 News it took an hour for emergency workers to free him from under the tree. Crews used saws to cut the tree into small enough pieces.
Fox's neighbor, Nathan Bugg, said "over the scanner, we knew what trailer their number was. We've known them for so many years, as a community, we're going to help out as much as possible."
Jim Robertson of Boone Electric said four power poles need to be replaced at the trailer court.
A woman in the trailer was able to get out before crews got on scene. She was not seriously hurt.
As of noon, Columbia Water and Light was reporting around 35 customers were without power. Boone Electric Cooperative is reporting around 300 customers in the dark.
There are also reports of trees down on roads across Boone County and roofs blown off barns on Christian School Road south of Ashland.
