A weak cold front will move south to near I-70 by Wednesday afternoon. As temperatures heat up in the afternoon, a few storms could pop up near the front. Stronger storms could produce winds up to 50 mph along with frequent lightning.
There is a slight risk of severe storms capable of producing winds at or greater than 57 mph or hail up to 1 inch in diameter. This risk is mainly in far eastern Missouri but does include Gasconade and Montgomery counties.
Afternoon storms will dissipate but additional storms are expected to develop by mid-evening in western Missouri and spread east across Mid-Missouri through the night. These could contain heavy downpours, occasional lightning and gusty winds but are not expected to become severe.
