Summer weather pattern for the next 2 weeks
We are getting a taste of summer heat and humidity this week as a ridge of high pressure aloft continues to build over the Midwest. Over the next two weeks this ridge will shift back and forth, causing our temperatures to cool as it retreats to the west and warm as it moves back to the east. Upper level disturbances will occasionally travel around the northern rim of the ridge bringing chances of t-storms to the region.
Medium range forecast models show an overall trend for above average temperatures the next 2 weeks with hot weather near the summer solstice which occurs June 21st. Storm chances increase this weekend and around the 22nd and 23rd. We'll have updates to the timing of rain and temperature changes in our daily forecast.
