Temperatures have been below average for most of the summer of 2013. In June, the average monthly temperature came in about a half degree above average with 6 days at 90 or above. July came in 2.2 degrees below average with only 8 days with highs of 90 or higher. Through August 25th we have had 5 days with 90 or above and are 3 degrees below average.

The weather pattern will look more like mid-summer this week as a strong ridge of high pressure aloft settles over the central states. This will keep the storm track to our north resulting in hot, dry weather with high temperatures in the 90s through Labor Day weekend and afternoon heat indices near 100 degrees.
