Travelers will need the winter coats, hats and gloves Wednesday as the arctic air will be felt as far south as Springfield and Cape Girardeau with afternoon temperatures in the 20s. Fortunately, it will be dry with sunny skies and light winds.

Warmer air starts to move in for Thanksgiving with temperatures climbing into the upper 40s near Joplin but staying cool in St. Louis with a high of 39. Dry weather continues Thursday and into the weekend with weekend temperatures reaching into the 40s and low 50s. There is a slight chance of light rain Sunday mainly in areas south of Interstate 70 but no travel problems are expected.
