Unseasonably cool air has settled over Mid-Missouri and will stick around through Friday. The jet stream is diving south around an upper level low pressure area which is moving across the Northern Plains resulting in cool weather and a chance of showers. This upper low will lift to the northeast through the weekend and temperatures will gradually warm up.

A ridge of high pressure will build across the Central Plains early next week causing temperatures to warm. We will start the week with afternoon highs in the 70s, reaching the 80s by mid-week with mainly dry weather. Medium range forecast models indicate we will enter a stormy period late next week as temperatures warm.
