Moderate to heavy snowfall amounts will be possible by Sunday afternoon as a winter storm is set to move into the area Saturday evening. The storm will impact Mid-Missouri through the overnight hours Saturday night into Sunday morning. The heaviest snowfall will come overnight/early morning.

Most areas will see anywhere from 3 to 6 inches of snow by Sunday afternoon. The lowest accumulations of snow will come to northwestern areas of Mid-Missouri, while the greatest accumulations to southeastern areas. Far Northwestern areas will only see around 1" of snow. Areas near Columbia should expect 3-5 inches. More than 5 inches will fall to our far southeastern areas.

Roads will be dangerous during and after this event due to snowfall and winds. We will see a northerly wind around 15-20 mph with gusts at times up to 26 mph. This will likely cause blowing and drifting snow, making travel even more difficult.
