Route WW east of Columbia is blocked after a crash on a bridge over the Grindstone Creek.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE: A Boone County Fire Protection District spokesman said firefighters pulled a woman from a vehicle that went into a ditch.

She was taken to University Hospital with moderate injuries. The road has reopened.

ORIGINAL: Route WW was closed east of Columbia after a crash Wednesday afternoon.

It wasn't immediately clear what led to the crash or if any injuries were reported in the incident just east of American Legion Park. The crash happened at the North Fork Grindstone Creek bridge.

The crash and closure led to traffic backups.

Two people were hurt in a crash at the same spot July 15.
