WATCH: Congresswoman Hartzler on Nextgen health institute, Medicaid expansion and U.S. COVID-19 response

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

US Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R - Harrisonville) toured the University of Missouri's Nextgen Precision Health Institute on Tuesday.

After seeing the facility, the congresswoman stopped by ABC 17 to talk about the health institute, Missouri voters approving Medicaid expansion and the country's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

MU spokesman Christian Basi said the precision health institute is on track to be completed on-time and on budget.

The spokesman said construction has continued throughout the pandemic and has seen minimal delays.

According to a previous announcement from the university, the facility is expected to be completed by October 2021.
