Maximum number of microenterprise loan applications submitted Tuesday to Columbia Housing Programs Division

City of Columbia Housing Programs Division is reporting 47 applications were started today for the microenterprise recovery loan program.

So far there are 35 submitted applications. The department is reporting 35 is the maximum number they are allowed to serve in this grant.

The department is reporting at least 25 of the completed applications are from locally owned minority- or women-owned businesses.

The City of Columbia Housing Programs Division is opening the application for its microenterprise recovery loan program.

The application will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday. Eligible businesses with five or fewer employees could get a $5,000 forgivable loan to help with the affects from COVID-19.

Eligible businesses must be within Columbia city limits, have a business license from before Jan. 1 and have been operating for at least 12 months. Any businesses with owners or partners undergoing bankruptcy proceedings are not eligible.
