Columbia man arrested after kidnapping incident Monday

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man is charged with kidnapping, sodomy or attempted sodomy, two counts of domestic assault and property damage.

In a Boone County probable cause statement, James Winters allegedly stopped a victim from leaving a residence and forced himself on the victim. In court documents, Winters assaulted the victim in various ways.

The victim told police that Winters then grabbed a knife and forced the victim to engage in unwanted sexual acts.

The victim told police that Winters stabbed the victim's clothing, broke the victim's phone, and destroyed property.

According to court records, Winters has a $250,000 cash only bond.

Winter's next court date is Wednesday at 1 p.m. according to Boone County Sheriff's department.
