TUSCUMBIA, Mo. - A second Illinois man has been arrested in connection with the June death of a man found dead in a wooded area near Tuscumbia.
Chicago-area authorities arrested Tyler M. Kroll, 25, of Lisle, Illinois, on March 7, the Miller County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Friday. He is suspected in the death of Tyler Worthington, 34, whose body was found in Miller County on June 9 after he had been shot to death.
The first arrest in the case was made in September, when Joseph McKenna was taken into custody in Chicago.
Worthington, who was from California, disappeared while he and McKenna were in Missouri to sell marijuana or oil from the plant, according to documents filed in McKenna's case. The sheriff's office did not elaborate on why Kroll is suspected in Worthington's death and charging documents were not immediately available Friday.
Kroll was being held in Miller County on a $750,000 bond on suspicion of first-degree murder. McKenna posted a $500,000 bond in November, according to online court records. His next hearing is scheduled for May 20.
