Man convicted of providing fatal dose of fentanyl

ST. LOUIS (AP) — A St. Louis County man could face up to life in prison after being convicted of distributing the fentanyl that led to an overdose death.

The U.S. Attorney’s office in St. Louis says 36-year-old Travis Broeker was found guilty Thursday of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death and conspiracy to distribute fentanyl.

Sentencing will be Jan. 6. Court documents say Broeker met the victim at a parking lot on Feb. 28, 2018, and sold him six fentanyl capsules.

The victim overdosed and was hospitalized.

He recovered and went home around midnight, where he overdosed again and died.
