Moberly PD investigating double homicide

MOBERLY, Mo. - The Moberly Police Department said it is investigating the death of two men who had been shot to death.

The bodies were discovered outside Bud's Place on Concannon Street around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities said the two men have not been "positively identified."

The police department was contacted about a suspicious vehicle in between Bud's Place and Westside Inn Saturday morning. Officers found the bodies inside the car.

The investigation into the death of the two people is ongoing and neither man has been positively identified.
"I couldn't tell you the last time someone around here was shot," former Westside Inn bar owner Robert Long told ABC 17 News Saturday. "A few fights every now and then, but no guns."

Moberly resident Tim Brown went to Bud's Place for breakfast Saturday morning, he said he  unknowingly parked next to the car with the two homicide victims inside.

"It's not a good thing, it shouldn't happen in this country," Brown said.

Bartenders from Bud's Place and Westside Inn told ABC 17 News their security footage showed the people had been inside the car since early Friday morning, however police have not confirmed that.

The Randolph County Coroner has ruled the deaths as homicide and autopsies will be performed.

The Moberly Police Department urges anyone with information to contact the Moberly Police Department at 660-263-0346, the Randolph County TIPS hotline (660-269-8477) or a local law enforcement agency.

Moberly PD said the identities of the two men will not be released until the next of kin has been notified.

This is a developing story. ABC 17 News is working to find out more information.
