COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri system leadership condemned the terror attack in New Zealand Friday that claimed the lives of at least 50 people. Dozens are still in local hospitals being treated for their injuries.
In a statement from several leaders, including President Mun Choi and MU chancellor Alexander Cartwright, the system called out the attack as "hateful and senseless."
They said they're standing together against intolerance, and said there was "no place for such hatred in our society."
System leadership reminded the community that there is support available in the form of counseling resources for students, and the Employee Assistance Program for faculty and staff.
