Yadier Molina among Cardinals players to test positive for COVID-19

ST. LOUIS (KMIZ)

Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina is among six players that tested positive for COVID-19 recently.

The team made the announcement in a tweet Tuesday morning.

Shortstop Paul DeJong, pitcher Junior Fernandez, first baseman Rangel Ravelo, shortstop Edmundo Sosa, and pitcher Kodi Whitley were the other five players to test positive for coronavirus.

"I will do everything within my power to return as soon as possible for Cardinals fans," Molina said in the tweet.

Molina also posted about his positive COVID-19 test on Instagram.

Seven team staff members also tested positive for coronavirus last week.

The team has postponed two series due to the outbreak. St. Louis is scheduled to play again on Friday at home against the Cubs.
