Kansas City takes the season opener over Houston

Andrew Kauffman

KANSAS CITY, Mo (KMIZ)

Just about every aspect of 2020 has been a bit off, except for the Kansas City Chiefs' season-opener versus the Houston Texans

The Chiefs are now 1-0, after a 34-20 win over the Texans.

Kansas City came out just about as fans expected them to, with 31 unanswered points, including quite the debut from LSU-alum Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

The running back clocked 138 yards, including one touchdown.

Edwards-Helaire became the first player to record over 100 rushing yards in their NFL debut since Saquon Barkley did it back in 2018.

Patrick Mahomes finished Thursday's game with 211 yards and three touchdowns.

Kansas City will be on the road for the next two weeks, as they head to Los Angeles to meet the Chargers on September 20.
