Strong storms bring heavy rain this evening

TONIGHT: A Weather Alert Day is in effect through 9PM for the threat of heavy rain and damaging winds. Rain amounts could reach up to 3" by the time storms end. Expect mostly cloudy skies overnight with lows falling into the low 70s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy with a chance of scattered thunderstorms. Highs in the mid-upper 80s.

EXTENDED: We'll continue an active pattern over the next several days with a front settled across the state for most of the week. Temperatures cool back to near normal for this time of year, but there will be plenty of instability to work with each day to get storms to fire up. Severe weather isn't expected at this time, but can't be ruled out with organized storm complexes late this week. We finally begin to dry out by the end of the weekend into next week with highs getting back into the low to mid-80s.
