126 dogs, cats removed at Lebanon shelter

LEBANON, Mo. (AP) — The Humane Society of Missouri is taking 126 dogs and cats from the Lebanon Humane Society in southern Missouri, at the request of that facility's newly elected board of directors.

The need for blood at hospitals is decreasing.  This as advances in surgical procedures diminish the use of blood during certain operations.  However, the American Red Cross said it still needs public donations to keep up with the thousands of units of blood it supplies each day.  

Law groups back child sex abuse amendment

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri law enforcement groups are promoting a proposed constitutional amendment that they say could make it easier to convict child sex offenders.

Jefferson City man reported missing after his body was found in rural Moniteau Co.

Cody Thirlwall, 32, was reported missing by a family member August 13. Captain Doug Shoemaker with the Jefferson City Police Department said that was days after Thirlwall's body found.
